I'm still able to complete the whole season journey every season that I play. Playing solo means you have to do a lot more by yourself, which is where I found the challenge/excitement. I've played the game from the release of Vanilla D3, played strictly solo since May 2012 and I've fully enjoyed the game. the vast majority of time spent playing in this game is playing online with other people the story mode is considered a tutorial by most, and can be completed in an evening. Multiplayer matters a lot, its essentially all there is. there are a handful of builds that are "top of leaderboard" viable, but for a new player you're not going to be a the top of the boards anyway, because it requires having an organized group and running massive amounts of rifts from the first possible day. Its a much simpler game, but its still very fun and has pretty good build variety. you can only trade items with people who were in the game with you when it dropped, and even then only for 2 hours.ĭiablo is streamlined in ways that PoE isnt, you dont have to deal with the dozens of trade currency/mats, you dont have to deal with the whole spell gem and socket stuff There is a very active playerbase, especially around the start of the season
